Geriatric psychiatry is a subspecialty of psychiatry dealing with the study, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders in humans with old age.Geriatric psychiatrists focus on prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental and emotional disorders in the elderly and improvement of psychiatric care for healthy and ill elderly patients. Geriatric Psychiatry is a specialized unit that focuses on the older population A national association representing and serving its members and the field of geriatric psychiatry. 

Pediatric psychiatry is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. It investigates the bio psychosocial factors that influence the development and course of these psychiatric disorders and treatment responses to various interventions.
